Getting Started

When the game boots, you'll be presented with a title screen and a short demo. Press Start to begin. Your ship moves left and right across the scrolling screen, and you fire shots at incoming enemies. The standout mechanic is your ship's adjustable armored jaws, which you can open and close to bite or crush certain foes instead of shooting them. This adds a strategic layer to the standard shooter formula.

The core loop involves navigating through waves of alien creatures and environmental hazards, all while the bio-organic entity looms in the background. You need to manage your positioning and decide when to use your guns versus your jaws. The game is fairly short and intense, typical for the genre. If you get hit, you lose a life and restart from a checkpoint.

New players should experiment with the jaw mechanic early - it is essential for dealing with tougher enemies. Watch for patterns in enemy movement and try to conserve your shots for when the jaws aren't effective. There is no continue or save feature, so finishing it in one sitting is the goal.
