Aero Blasters

Aero Blasters is a horizontal scrolling shoot-'em-up released for the NEC TurboGrafx-16 in 1991. It originally appeared in North America under this title, though it is a port of the 1990 arcade game Air Buster (also known as Aero Blasters in Japan). The game was developed by Kaneko and brings fast-paced arcade shooting action to the home console, fitting squarely into the shooter genre that dominated the TurboGrafx-16 library. You pilot a small fighter craft through horizontally scrolling stages, blasting enemy ships and dodging incoming fire. Power-up orbs appear from destroyed enemies, letting you upgrade your primary weapon or deploy a powerful secondary attack. The game also supports a simultaneous two-player mode, allowing a friend to join in and take on the alien forces together. Each stage ends with a boss encounter, and the challenge ramps up steadily as you progress. Aero Blasters doesn't reinvent the genre, but it delivers tight controls and colorful visuals that fans of classic shooters will appreciate.
