Getting Started

When you launch the game, you will be greeted with a title screen in Japanese. Press Enter to start. The main menu offers options like starting a new game, loading a saved game, or configuring settings. Use Arrow Keys to navigate and X to confirm your selection. Since the interface is entirely in Japanese, some familiarity with the game series or a translation guide is helpful. The first step is to choose a scenario and a daimyo to lead. Oda Nobunaga is typically the recommended starting choice for beginners.

Once in the game, your core loop involves reviewing your provinces, issuing orders for each season. You'll manage income, recruit soldiers, construct buildings, and decide diplomatic actions. Turn-based, each turn represents a season, and you can move armies across the map to attack enemy provinces. Battles are resolved through a separate tactical screen where you deploy units. Pay attention to your army's supplies and morale. Saving often is wise, as mistakes can be costly.

New players should focus on consolidating their home region first, building up infrastructure and alliances before expanding aggressively. The game's manual is essential for understanding the deeper mechanics, but online resources can also provide translation overlays for the menus.
