Getting Started

Isin no Arashi is a turn-based strategy game set during the Meiji Restoration. When you start, you will see a Japanese menu screen. Use the arrow keys to navigate and press X to confirm a selection. The main menu typically offers options like starting a new game, loading a saved game, or viewing a tutorial. Since the game is entirely in Japanese, recognizing menu icons (if available) helps; otherwise, trial and error is part of the experience for non-readers.

Once in the game, you control a clan during the turbulent Bakumatsu period. The core loop involves managing resources, deploying armies, and making political decisions. You move a cursor around a map of Japan, selecting provinces to recruit troops or engage in battles. Battles are resolved through simple tactical menus. Key to success is balancing military power with diplomacy and economic development. Save often using the in-game save feature if available, or rely on the emulator's save states.
