Skeleton Krew (Europe)
Skeleton Krew (Europe): Genesis Action
Skeleton Krew is a top-down shooter released for the SEGA Mega Drive (Genesis) in Europe in 1995. It was developed by Core Design, the British studio known for the Tomb Raider series, and published by Sega. This is an official retail release, not a hack or homebrew. The game puts you in control of a small vehicle as you blast through hordes of enemies across various levels. It stands out for its isometric perspective and fast-paced action, though it never achieved the same fame as other shooters on the system.
How to Play Skeleton Krew (Europe) Online
Getting Started
When you start a new game, you choose a level or proceed through a linear campaign. Your vehicle moves in eight directions using the D-Pad. The A button fires your main weapon, while other buttons may activate secondary items or abilities. The core loop involves navigating each stage, destroying enemies, collecting power-ups, and avoiding damage. Enemies come in waves, and you need to keep moving to survive.
Your health is displayed at the top of the screen, and you can pick up health refills and weapon upgrades from destroyed foes or floating items. The game has no continues by default, so you only have one life per credit. Learning enemy patterns and using the environment for cover is essential. The isometric view can make judging depth tricky, so take your time to gauge distances.
If you are unfamiliar with the game, start on the first level to get a feel for the controls and enemy attack patterns. Experiment with the different weapons you find - some are better against ground targets while others work well against air units. The game rewards careful play over reckless charging.
