Getting started: This is a one-on-one fighting game based on the original Mortal Kombat. When you boot the game, you will see the title screen and then a character select screen. Choose your fighter using the D-Pad (Arrow Keys) and press the A button (X key) to confirm. The core loop is to engage in matches against the computer or a second player, using a combination of punches, kicks, and special moves to deplete the opponent's health bar. Each fighter has unique special attacks that require specific button inputs (often direction combinations plus a button). The hack enhances the blood effects and audio to be more arcade-accurate, so expect more gore than the stock Genesis version. Pay attention to the button layout: X for high punch, S for low punch, Z for high kick, A for low kick (depending on the character's layout).
