Getting Started

You control Michael Jackson as he moves through side-scrolling levels, searching for children to rescue. The main objective in each stage is to find and liberate a certain number of kids scattered around the map. Once you have collected enough, you can exit the level and face a boss at the end of the zone.

Your primary actions are running and jumping with the B and A buttons, and attacking using dance moves. Pressing B while moving makes Michael twirl, hitting enemies with a spin. You can also use a special attack by collecting a star icon, which lets Michael transform into a giant robot. This robot form can destroy almost anything on screen, including most bosses in a few hits. Another helper is the pet monkey Bubbles, who follows you and can pick up items.

Watch your health bar at the top of the screen. Enemies drain your energy, but you can restore it by collecting hearts or performing successful dance moves. The game lacks a save system, so you must complete it in one sitting, though emulator save states can help. The core loop is simple: move right, fight, rescue kids, repeat until the stage ends.
