Rise of the Dragon

Rise of the Dragon is a point-and-click adventure that originally hit MS-DOS in 1990, developed by Dynamix and published by Sierra On-Line. The SEGA CD version brought this cyberpunk detective story to console owners a couple years later. It's a single-player game that combines investigation, puzzle solving, and a branching narrative set in a dystopian Los Angeles of 2053. If you like classic adventure games with a dark sci-fi edge, this one's worth a look. You step into the shoes of detective William 'Blade' Hunter. The mayor's daughter has been murdered, and your investigation leads you to a dangerous new drug called MTZ. The gameplay revolves around exploring environments, talking to characters, and collecting items. You solve puzzles that can alter the story's progression. The interface adapts the original point-and-click mechanics to the SEGA CD controller, using a cursor and confirm button to interact with the world. For fans of early cyberpunk or retro adventures, Rise of the Dragon offers a moody atmosphere and a solid mystery. It's a faithful port that preserves the original's puzzles and multiple endings. The graphics and soundtrack are dated but have their own charm. It sits alongside titles like Snatcher or the Tex Murphy series, though it's less well known. If you want a narrative-driven experience from the SEGA CD library, this is a solid pick.
