Revengers of Vengeance
Revengers of Vengeance: SCD Beat em Up
Revengers of Vengeance is a side-scrolling beat 'em up that hit the SEGA CD in 1993, landing in both Japan and North America. It was published by Sega during the twilight of the 16-bit era, when the add-on was trying to carve out its own library with CD-based titles. The game takes a straightforward brawler approach, letting you punch and kick through waves of enemies across urban and industrial stages. It supports one or two players simultaneously, which was standard for the genre at the time.
How to Play Revengers of Vengeance Online
Getting Started
When you boot up Revengers of Vengeance, you'll see a title screen and then a character select if playing solo or with a friend. Choose your fighter; each has a different set of basic punches, kicks, and special moves. The core loop is simple: walk from left to right across each stage, defeating every enemy that appears.
Keep an eye on your health bar and watch for items dropped by defeated foes - they can restore health or give temporary power-ups. The game throws multiple enemy types at you, from street thugs to bosses who require pattern recognition. If you die, you continue from the start of the current screen, but the game is fairly short overall.
For two-player mode, both players share the screen and can accidentally hit each other, so coordinate your attacks. The menus are in English for the US release, so no translation issues there. Just press Start to begin and use the D-Pad and attack buttons to fight your way through the city.
