Getting Started

After pressing Enter to pass the title screen, you are dropped straight into a colorful side-scrolling stage. Guide Pero to the right with the Arrow Keys while staying alert for pits, spikes, and roaming foes. The S button swings Pero's trusty sword, and timing those slashes is the best way to clear a path without taking hits.

Scattered through the levels are special power-ups that shift Pero into different animal forms. The penguin lets him slide across icy platforms, the bird grants flight over large gaps, the octopus opens up underwater routes, and the mouse slips through tiny tunnels. Experimenting with each transformation is often the only way to find hidden areas or bypass tricky sections.

Every stage ends with a boss encounter or a goal marker, and losing all your lives boots you back to the beginning of that level. You get a limited stack of continues, so learning enemy patterns and managing your morphs is critical. Most levels reward careful exploration with extra lives or health pickups tucked off the beaten path.
