About Felix the Cat

Felix the Cat (USA) for the Nintendo Entertainment System is an officially released licensed title that came out in 1990. It is a platformer featuring the classic cartoon character Felix the Cat, aiming to bring his adventures into the video game realm. As an NES game from this era, it fits into the broader trend of licensed cartoon character games that sought to capitalize on recognizable mascots to attract younger players and fans of the original media. Gameplay typically involves guiding Felix through various side-scrolling levels filled with enemies, obstacles, and collectible items. Players can expect standard platforming mechanics such as running, jumping, and possibly some form of attack or special ability, consistent with NES platformers of the late 80s and early 90s. The game likely challenges players with timing-based jumps and enemy avoidance or defeat, common traits in platformers of this generation. For collectors and retro gaming enthusiasts, Felix the Cat on NES represents a niche but interesting piece of licensed platformer history. While it may not stand out for groundbreaking gameplay or technical achievements, it holds nostalgic value for fans of the character and era. It is worth seeking out mainly for those interested in completing a collection of NES platformers or exploring lesser-known licensed titles from the period, rather than players looking for a standout or highly polished platforming experience.

How to play Felix the Cat online

New players often underestimate the importance of precise timing in NES platformers like Felix the Cat. Jumping too early or too late can lead to unnecessary damage or loss of life, so observing enemy patterns and practicing level layouts is key. Additionally, some players may try to rush through levels without exploring, missing important power-ups or secret areas that can make progression easier. Another common mistake is neglecting the use of the character's abilities in strategic ways. NES games often reward players who master the nuances of movement and attacks, so learning when to run, jump, or use any special moves will improve survival chances. Patience and careful observation are essential to avoid frustration and advance through the stages efficiently.
