Turbo Sub started life in 1985 as an arcade first-person shoot 'em up from Entertainment Sciences. Six years later, Atari Corporation brought the action to the Lynx with this port that includes a two-player mode. If you remember the original cabinets, this handheld version captures that same underwater alien-blasting feel on a smaller screen.
The player takes the role of a submersible pilot fighting off alien attackers beneath the ocean. The view is from inside the cockpit, so you aim and fire at enemies that appear ahead. The Lynx version keeps the arcade's core loop - dodge incoming fire, blast waves of alien craft, and survive as long as possible. The added two-player mode lets a friend join in for cooperative or competitive play.

Getting Started
When you start Turbo Sub, you will see a title screen with a simple menu. Press Enter to start a one-player game. You control a submarine viewed from the cockpit. Use the D-Pad to move your sub up, down, left, and right on the screen. Press the B button (S key) to fire your weapon at the alien ships coming toward you.
The core loop is straightforward: enemy waves appear from the distance, and you must dodge their attacks while shooting them down. Watch your shield gauge - if it depletes, the game ends. There is no complicated weapon system, just a single shot that you can fire repeatedly. The challenge comes from increasing speed and enemy density as you survive longer.
For two-player mode, both players need a connected Lynx or use the emulator's netplay feature if supported. Select the two-player option from the menu. Each player controls their own sub, and you can play cooperatively against the aliens or compete for the highest score. The gameplay remains the same as single-player, but with a friend, targets split into two views.
