Power Drive Rally (World)
What is Power Drive Rally (World)?
Power Drive Rally is a racing game that landed on the Atari Jaguar in 1995, developed by Rage Software and published by Time Warner Interactive. It's a conversion of the earlier Power Drive from 1994, which had appeared on several other platforms. This version brings rally racing to the Jaguar, leaning into the off-road, international circuit vibe that defined the genre in the mid-90s. If you've played the Amiga or DOS versions, you'll recognize the core here, but it's been tailored for the Jaguar's hardware and controller.
How to Play Power Drive Rally (World) Online
Jump into a championship season by selecting Rally from the main menu. You'll pick a car and a location, then race against opponents on winding dirt and asphalt stages. The goal is to finish as high as possible to earn money, which you'll need to repair damage between events. Keep an eye on your car's condition - too much damage and you'll struggle to keep pace.
Each race is a point-to-point sprint against a clock and other drivers. Watch for course markers and avoid running into trees or barriers, which shave off time and hurt your vehicle. After every stage, you get a brief chance to spend your winnings on repairs at the service area. The season continues until you run out of cash or fail to qualify for the next event, so driving cleanly matters as much as speed.
