Bells & Whistles (ver. L)
Bells & Whistles (ver. L) Overview
Bells & Whistles is an arcade platformer that originally hit arcades in 1990. Developed by Video System and published by Taito, it's a colorful follow-up to Rainbow Islands. This particular version carries the 'L' label, which likely denotes a revision or later build of the original ROM.
The player controls a character who runs and jumps across platforms, climbing upward through levels. Enemies pop up and can be defeated by dropping rainbows or other projectiles. Collecting bells and other items builds up points and powers. Each stage ends when you reach the top and collect a key or exit.
As a revision of a classic, Bells & Whistles (ver. L) offers fans a chance to see an alternative version of a well-known title. It's a solid platforming challenge with tight controls and bright graphics that still hold up. While not as famous as its predecessor, it's a worthwhile play for anyone exploring the Taito arcade library.
How to Play Bells & Whistles (ver. L) Online
Start the game by pressing Enter. Use the arrow keys to move your character left and right, and press X to jump. The core objective is to climb each vertical stage by jumping between platforms, defeating enemies by dropping blocks or using projectiles (press S to attack). Collect bells that appear for extra points and power-ups. Each stage ends when you reach the top and secure the exit. If the game displays menus in Japanese, the default option is usually the first one to start a new game. The game continues in an alternating fashion if you are playing with a second player.
