Arkanoid - Revenge of DOH (Japan) on arcade
Arkanoid - Revenge of DOH is an arcade block-breaking game released in Japan in 1987. It was developed and published by Taito as a sequel to the original Arkanoid. This version is the Japanese release of the game, which features slightly different level layouts and title screens compared to its international counterparts. It runs on Taito's dedicated hardware, using a spinner control for precise paddle movement.
How to Play Arkanoid - Revenge of DOH (Japan) Online
Getting Started
Insert a coin (Enter) and press Start to begin. You control a paddle at the bottom of the screen using the Arrow Keys (left/right). The goal is to break all bricks in each stage by bouncing a ball off your paddle. If the ball falls past your paddle, you lose a life.
Power-up capsules drop from certain bricks. Catch them with your paddle to gain temporary advantages like enlarging the paddle, splitting the ball into three, or adding a laser to destroy bricks more easily. Each stage ends when all bricks are cleared, leading to a new stage with tougher patterns. The game loops until you run out of lives.
Menus are in Japanese but are minimal: you only need to press Start to play or press Select to adjust game settings (if available). The core gameplay is straightforward and doesn't require reading text.
