Centipede for the ATARI 7800 is a classic arcade shooter that brings the frantic action of the original arcade hit right into your home. Players find themselves battling against a relentless centipede that winds its way down the screen, while also facing various other creepy crawlies like spiders, scorpions, and mushrooms that serve as obstacles. The gameplay is simple yet addictive, requiring quick reflexes and precise aiming to survive the onslaught of enemies and to clear the screen of the centipede before it reaches the bottom.
Use the Arrow keys to move your character around the bottom of the screen. Press Z for shooting, X for a special weapon, and C to pause the game. Your main goal is to shoot the centipede and other enemies, which will split the centipede into smaller segments. Be aware of the mushrooms, as they can block your shots. Collect power-ups to enhance your firepower and score big. Stay alert, as the centipede speeds up with each segment you eliminate.
