How to Play Sonic 3 & Knuckles Hard Bosses Edition 2 v1.1 Online
After loading the ROM in your emulator, you will see the standard Sonic 3 & Knuckles title screen (the hack does not change menu art). Press Start to proceed. You can choose your character on the file select screen: Sonic & Tails, Sonic alone, Tails alone, or Knuckles. Each character has slightly different boss strategies, so experiment if one route feels too tough.
The core loop is identical to the original: run through each act, collect rings, reach the act signpost, then face the zone's boss at the end of Act 2. In this hack, every boss has faster or more complex attack patterns. Stock up on rings before entering the boss room - they provide a single hit buffer.
