Getting Started
When you start Phelios, you control Apollo on his winged horse as the screen automatically scrolls upward. Your goal is to destroy all enemies that appear, primarily by shooting forward. The game is entirely in Japanese, but the menus are simple: pressing Start begins the game, and there are no complex options to configure. Movement is with the D-Pad; shooting uses the B or A button.
The core loop involves flying through each stage, shooting down mythological creatures while avoiding their projectiles and collisions. Power-ups appear occasionally - collecting them upgrades your main weapon or adds side shots. The screen scrolls at a fixed speed, so you must constantly stay alert for enemies coming from above and the sides. Dying sends you back to a checkpoint with a weaker weapon, so surviving longer requires memorizing enemy patterns and power-up locations.
