The player takes the role of a police officer tasked with cleaning up the city's most dangerous streets. Each level presents a series of criminals that pop up from behind cover, and the player must aim and fire quickly to neutralize them before they return fire. Scoring is based on accuracy and speed, with bonus points for headshots or taking down special targets. The game also simulates real weapon recoil when used with the Menacer, adding to the immersion. Between stages, a brief reload sequence occurs, and the player's health is represented by a limited number of lives before the game ends.
