Hurricanes is a game released for the Sega Game Gear in the USA and Europe. It is based on the animated television series of the same name, which followed a soccer team. The exact developer and publisher are not widely documented, but it fits the trend of licensed games from the mid-1990s on Sega's handheld. The player takes control of a character from the Hurricanes team. The gameplay involves moving through side-scrolling levels, jumping over obstacles, and defeating enemies. Based on available footage, the core loop appears to involve collecting items and reaching the end of each stage. Specific mechanics like power-ups or special moves are not clearly recorded. Hurricanes is an obscure title even among Game Gear collectors. It represents the era when many cartoons got quick game adaptations. While not a standout in terms of innovation, it offers a glimpse into 8-bit handheld gaming and will appeal to retro enthusiasts curious about forgotten licensed games. Its rarity makes it a novelty worth trying once.

How to play Hurricanes online

Getting Started

When you start Hurricanes, the game likely presents a title screen. Press Enter to begin. You control a character from the animated series, moving through side-scrolling levels. Use the D-Pad to move left and right, and press X to jump. Experiment with the B button to see if it triggers an attack or action.

The objective in each stage is to reach the end by avoiding hazards and defeating enemies. The game does not have a tutorial, so the best way to learn is to play through the first level. If you get stuck, try using the jump button to reach higher platforms or avoid pits.

Since the exact mechanics are not well documented, feel free to experiment with the shoulder buttons (Q and E) and the Y button (Z) - they may trigger secondary actions. The core gameplay is straightforward: keep moving right and survive until the stage ends.
