Caesars Palace for the Game Gear is a casino simulation that originally hit shelves in 1993, the same year it appeared on the Super NES and Genesis. It's a portable take on the classic Vegas casino experience, developed by Virgin as a follow-up to their earlier Caesars Palace title. While the Game Gear version naturally scales down the visuals to the small screen, it still aims to capture the glitz of the real Las Vegas resort with a selection of table games and slots. Your goal is to build up your bankroll by playing a handful of casino games - blackjack, poker, slots, and a few others. You start with a set amount of credits and choose which game to enter. Each game plays out with simple button inputs: placing bets, drawing cards, or spinning reels. There's no story or progression beyond trying to hit big wins; the entire experience revolves around gambling mechanics and luck. For retro collectors, this is an interesting piece of the Game Gear library because it's a full casino sim on a handheld from the early 90s. It doesn't break any new ground - it's straightforward and repetitive by design - but it offers a quick, on-the-go gambling fix that was rare for the system. If you enjoy minimalist casino games or want to see how developers ported adult-themed venues to children's hardware, it's worth a few spins.

How to play Caesars Palace online

When you first boot up Caesars Palace, the title screen leads into a main menu where you pick from the available games - usually blackjack, poker, slots, and maybe a couple more. Use the D-pad to highlight your choice and press the A button (X key) to confirm. You start with a fixed amount of credits, shown at the top of the screen. The core loop is simple: choose a game, place a bet by pressing buttons to adjust your wager, then play that game according to its rules. For blackjack, you hit or stand with the A and B buttons. In slots, you press spin and watch the reels. Win or lose, your credit total updates and you can keep playing or switch to another game. There is no save feature, so when you turn off the system your progress is lost. The interface is purely English in the USA/Europe release, so menus are straightforward. Just remember that B (S key) usually cancels or exits a game back to the selection screen.
