Getting Started

When you start Baku Baku Animal, you pick a character and then face off against an opponent. The playfield has two halves: your side and the enemy's. Blocks with animals and food items fall from the top, and you must move them around using the D-Pad. The goal is to match each animal with its preferred food - dogs like bones, pandas like bamboo, etc. When a match is made, those blocks disappear, clearing space on your side and possibly sending garbage blocks to your opponent's side.

The core loop is all about setting up chain reactions. You don't just swap two identical tiles; instead, you drag an animal block onto a food block (or vice versa) that it eats. If you line up a whole row of correct pairs in a chain, the combo clears multiple blocks at once and dumps more clutter onto your rival. Pay attention to what foods each animal wants, because sending the wrong combination wastes moves and can clog your own stack. The match ends when one player's side fills to the top. Practice quick thinking and pattern recognition to chain longer combos and stay ahead.
