Unofficial ROM hack. The notes below come from community sources and have not been verified against the patch itself, so levels, mechanics and features may differ from what is described.

Doki Doki SMB1 Club - Yuri is a fan-made hack based on the classic Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo Entertainment System. This title brings a unique twist to the original game, incorporating elements of a dating simulation along with the platforming action that players loved in the 1985 release. As a hack, it showcases the creativity of fans who enjoy reshaping beloved titles to offer new experiences while still retaining the nostalgic feel of the NES era. In this game, players navigate through familiar platforming levels, jumping on enemies and collecting power-ups. However, unlike traditional Mario games, there are additional mechanics that focus on character interactions and choices, reflecting the dating sim genre. The combination of platforming and dating elements creates a unique gameplay loop that may appeal to fans of both genres, allowing players to engage with characters in a more personal way. Trying Doki Doki SMB1 Club - Yuri today is a fun way to experience a different take on a classic. While it may not have the polish of commercial releases, the charm lies in its fan-driven development and the nostalgia it evokes. For those who appreciate retro gaming and enjoy mods that add a twist to established formulas, this title is worth checking out, even if it caters to a niche audience.
