Section 2 - Getting Started

When you launch Cadillacs and Dinosaurs (hack, 930201 etc), you are presented with the standard arcade attract mode showing the title and then a character select screen. Choose one of the four playable survivors - each with slightly different stats and attack ranges. Press Start (Enter key) to confirm your choice and begin.

The core loop is classic beat 'em up: you move from left to right across post-apocalyptic levels, fighting waves of thugs and mutated dinosaurs. Use the attack button (S) to punch, kick, or use weapons like pipes and guns you pick up from the environment. The jump button (X) lets you leap over enemies or perform aerial attacks. A special attack (often a powerful spinning move) is executed by pressing attack and jump together when your health is low or you have enough energy.

This hack may have altered the enemy placement or damage values, but the fundamental goal remains: survive the onslaught, defeat each stage's boss, and progress through the story. The game supports up to two players simultaneously, so you can cooperate with a friend via the EmulatorJS netplay feature if available. Menus and on-screen text are in English, identical to the original arcade release.
