Air Gallet (Taiwan)
Air Gallet (Taiwan): arcade Shooter
Air Gallet hit arcades in 1996 as a vertical-scrolling shooter, published by Banpresto. This Taiwanese release brings the same intense action as the original Japanese version, letting players pilot a fighter jet through six stages. The premise is straightforward: a terrorist organization is leveling major cities and brainwashing the population with propaganda, and it's up to you to stop them. Banpresto, known for their work on other shooters and licensed games, delivered a solid arcade experience that fits right into the mid-90s golden age of shoot 'em ups.
How to Play Air Gallet (Taiwan) Online
Getting started is simple: press Enter to insert a coin, then press it again to start. Your fighter jet moves with the arrow keys and fires automatically with the S button. The core loop involves dodging enemy fire while blasting everything on screen. Power-ups appear as floating icons: grab them to upgrade your main weapon or pick up special attack pods that give you a temporary screen-clearing bomb or a spread shot.
The game is in English (or Japanese depending on settings), but menus are minimal. You'll see a brief intro, then you're dropped into the first level over a burning city. Keep your ship moving constantly and prioritize destroying enemies that fire aimed shots. Boss fights appear at the end of each stage and require pattern recognition more than raw firepower. If you die, you'll respawn with basic weapons, so collecting power-ups quickly after a death is crucial. There are no continues unless you insert more coins, but each credit gives you a limited number of lives.
