Falsion (Japan)
Getting to Know Falsion (Japan)
Falsion is a horizontally scrolling shooter released in Japan for the Famicom Disk System in 1987. It was published by Konami (though some sources credit a different developer, details are not widely documented). The game uses the Disk System's storage medium, allowing for larger levels and save functionality via the disk side. As an early FDS title, it leverages the platform's enhanced sound capabilities and extra RAM compared to standard Famicom cartridges.
How to Play Falsion (Japan) Online
Getting Started: Upon booting Falsion, you will see a title screen. Press Start to begin a new game. The game is entirely in Japanese, but the menus are simple: use the D-Pad to select options and press A or Start to confirm. Your ship starts with a basic shot. The core loop involves flying through horizontal stages, dodging enemy fire, and destroying foes.
A key mechanic is collecting letter orbs that spell out "FALSION." Each letter grants a different power-up, such as increasing speed, adding missiles, or improving shields. You can collect them in any order to customize your loadout. The game is challenging and requires memorizing enemy patterns. If you lose all lives, you can continue by selecting the continue option (second menu choice) before the level restarts.
