Korokoro Kirby (Japan)
Korokoro Kirby (Japan) - Puzzle Classic
Korokoro Kirby is a Japan-exclusive puzzle game for the Game Boy Color, released in 1998 by Nintendo and developed by HAL Laboratory. Unlike traditional Kirby platformers, this title takes a unique approach by having you tilt and rotate the environment to guide a rolling Kirby through maze-like stages. It was part of a small wave of Kirby spin-offs that experimented with different genres on portable consoles, and it remains a charming oddity among his library.
How to Play Korokoro Kirby (Japan) Online
Getting Started
When you start the game, you'll see a title screen in Japanese. Press Start (Enter key) to proceed to the main menu, then press A (X key) to begin a new game. The objective is to guide Kirby to the goal in each stage by tilting the playfield using the D-Pad.
The core gameplay involves moving a marble-like Kirby by altering the slope of the stage. You must avoid hazards like spikes, pits, and enemies while collecting stars and keys to open doors. Some stages have switches that change the layout. You can jump with the A button to clear small gaps.
Since the menus are entirely in Japanese, navigation may require some trial and error, but the gameplay itself is intuitive. The game uses a password system to continue progress; write down the password shown after completing a stage. Each world introduces new elements like ice or conveyor belts, so take your time to understand the physics.
