Getting Started

When you boot up Carmageddon - Carpocalypse Now, you will see a title screen and possibly menu options. Use the Arrow Keys to navigate and S to select or confirm. The game is in English even though it's a German release, but some menus might be in German. If you see text you do not understand, look for words like "Start" or "Spiel" to begin.

The core loop of Carmageddon on GBC is to race through courses while trying to destroy opponents' cars or hit pedestrians (if the censored version allows). You control your vehicle with the D-Pad to steer and accelerate. Use the attack buttons (B or A) to ram, slash, or deploy power-ups. The goal is to cross the finish line first or accumulate enough damage to survive. Health and wrecking count matter. Mastering turning and selective aggression is key because the AI is relentless and crashes slow you down.

If you are new, start with the easiest mode and learn the track layouts. Collect power-ups and nitro boosts to gain an edge. Avoid head-on collisions at high speed - sometimes it is better to dodge and let opponents hit each other. The game has a limited number of lives, so careful driving pays off.
