Power League II (Japan)
Inside Power League II (Japan)
Power League II for the NEC TurboGrafx-16 is a baseball simulation that originally hit shelves in Japan around 1990, published and developed by Hudson Soft. As a sequel to the original Power League, this title refines the batting, pitching, and fielding systems for the Japanese market. It's a straight-up sports game, not a hack or fan translation - what you get is an authentic slice of early '90s console baseball, designed for the PC Engine's unique hardware.
How to Play Power League II (Japan) Online
Getting Started
Power League II is in Japanese, so the menus and player names are all in kanji and kana. When the game boots, you'll see a title screen - press Start to reach the main menu. The top option is typically Exhibition (quick match), followed by League and Tournament modes. Use the D-Pad and A button to select. If you want to just play immediately, choose Exhibition and then pick two teams.
Pitching uses timing and placement: choose a pitch type with the B button after pressing A to start the windup, then press A again to throw. Batting requires you to time your swing with the B button as the ball arrives. Fielding is automatic for grounders, but you can move fielders with the D-Pad and throw to bases with the B button. The core loop is straightforward - play through nine innings, try to outscore the computer or a second player.
